Go to a brake shop they usually give free estimates, shop around. Is it worth to change a rear drum brake to disc brake?Since the car you're discussing is already fitted with drum brakes I don't know that there is anything to gain.

The rear brakes actually do a small percentage of the stopping, (30 to 40%) making the effectiveness of the rear brakes a small matter.

Disc brakes are preferred over drum brakes because they are less effected by heat; the rotor has a great deal of air flow over it as do the friction pads. The rear brakes don't get heated up nearly as much as the front which is why most manufacturers just go with the lighter weight drum brake in the rear.Is it worth to change a rear drum brake to disc brake?it is not usually worth the cost for most cars driven on the street in a law abiding fashion ,if you are racing and a different year of car that is almost identical to yours has them an upgrade may be possible for a reasonable cost by switching the parts from the newer or sportier version of your carIs it worth to change a rear drum brake to disc brake? Not really. The front brakes do most of the work anyhow.

Maybe if you were driving a truck with a heavy payload in the back.
