Converting drum brakes to disc brakes?

is it possible to change the rear drum brakes on a 2wd 94 chevy suburban to big disk brakes? if it is how much would it cost on average?Converting drum brakes to disc brakes?yes its possible. as for cost heres what you need to consider.... first, do you wanna do it as a kit? or just swap the axle with another GM product like say a trans am axle that already has disk brakes. cost is hard to nail down here because there is alot involved. you will need to change more than just the brakes. ie: master cyclinder piston, brake distribution manifold block, parking brake, and does your truck have any kinda anti lock devices? ( hope not, those suck no matter what anyone says! ). generally the kit ( if avail for your truck ) would be the easier way to go as it will contain all that you need for a set price. please take the time to research this among the aftermarket suppliers. this research will also give you an idea of the work involved to do the project. curious to know why you would want to do this as the rear brakes only provide 30% of your braking. i could see it on a performance vehicle. if you use this truck for hauling, ponder using trailer brakes. much easier project than what your after now.
